Meet Your Host: Kate Oates

Hello, I’m Kate. I’m a Senior Registered Yoga Teacher with over 12 years of experience, 50+ weekly clients, and a background in functional, accessible yoga that actually works for real people.

I wasn’t always a yoga convert. I was all about high-impact workouts until my body had other plans. What started as a reluctant experiment became a life-changing support system. Yoga has helped me through injury, stress, burnout, illness, and the daily juggle of being a working mum with an ADHD brain.

Now I teach inclusive, intelligent yoga to beginners, men, athletes, and everyone in between. From people managing chronic illness to those chasing performance goals, my approach is grounded, safe, and science-informed, with just the right dose of energy and encouragement.

Yoga really does benefit everyone. No pretzels. No pressure. Just movement that helps you feel stronger, calmer, and more at home in your body.

Weekly Group Classes

Join my friendly, inclusive yoga classes in Cheadle Hulme, and/or my weekly classes online. Designed for real bodies and busy minds, these sessions build strength, mobility, and calm – without pressure.

Private Yoga Tuition

Tailored 1:1 sessions in person or online. Ideal if you’re managing an injury, want more confidence before joining a class, or need something that’s fully yours. Perfect for beginners, athletes and anyone needing a more personal approach.

Specialist Yoga for Men

Supportive, zero-ego classes focused on mobility, strength and recovery. Whether you’re stiff from sport, life or work – I’ll help you move better and feel better.

Yoga for Athletes & Active Bodies

A specialist in yoga for sport, I support runners, cyclists, footballers and active people to improve performance, recovery and long-term mobility. Many of my clients are managing past injuries or returning to movement after years of high-impact sport. Whether you’re still training or feeling the wear and tear of an active life, yoga can help you move better, recover faster and stay mobile for the long haul. Expect functional, targeted movement that supports real bodies – not just bendy ones.

Familiar Flow Yoga @ 6:45 - 7:45pm

Vinyasa Flow Yoga for those who have a regular practise and welcome snippets of newness and challenge. Can I be clear: You don’t have to bendy wendy with an advanced practise! This session simply allows me to throw in newness and challenge, for you to take or leave.

Expect energizing, releasing yoga with pranayama and relaxation. This is a charismatic and warm group, and we welcome new faces to join our Monday joy!

Vinyasa Flow For All @ 8 - 9pm

Energising, releasing yoga with expert guidance, breathwork and relaxation for all levels and abilities.

Expect strong foundational vinyasa flow yoga with modifications and/or advancements available for all levels whether brand-spanking-new, or more familiar – you will be (positively) challenged and encouraged in equal measure!

Gently wake up with movement, breathwork and a natural boost in your energy. A 45-minute class to energise you and begin your day with peace and purpose.

Delivered via Zoom, join our small community where we practise together from the comfort of our own homes, before the day starts & chaos takes over.

THURSDAY

Yoga Class for Men @ 7:30 - 8:30pm

A space designed to help men move well, loosen tightness, and feel better in their bodies — whether that’s from years of running, long days at a desk, or just general creakiness.

With an anatomical, functional style supporting and enhancing common movement profiles, injuries, areas of tightness, providing joint support, muscle rehabilitation, strengthening and lengthening in tight bodies that will soon NOT feel over the hill.

Old injuries prohibiting you living your best life? This is your class.

FRIDAY

Flow & Fundamentals @ 9:15 - 10:15am

Vinyasa Flow Yoga with breathwork and relaxation. This class focuses on yoga fundamentals and introduces the brilliant basics in a knowledgable and relatable way.

An energising, uplifting class, sequenced to provide strong, foundational familiarity but with variety, safety and a safe-space for learning.

• Discounted weekly bookings
• Available at the start of each term
• Bundle spaces are prioritised when classes fill
If bundles aren’t showing, we’re mid-term. Book a single session instead.

What to Bring?
• Please bring a yoga mat
• All other props are provided
• New to class? Just ask to borrow a mat. No fuss.

Cancellations and Absences
• Bookings are non-refundable and can’t be rolled over
• If you let me know in advance and there is space later that week, I will try to offer a swap
• Please make every effort to attend your sessions. It helps me manage the schedule fairly for everyone

Yoga for Sport and Athletes

Yoga isn’t just for injuries. It’s a performance tool – one I believe in, personally and professionally. As an ex-marathon runner, Hell Runner, pole dancer, swimmer and casual 5km jogger, I’ve experienced the benefits firsthand. Now I help others use yoga to support strength, mobility and nervous system recovery alongside sport.

This is functional yoga for people who move. We focus on:

  • Enhancing flexibility and joint stability

  • Supporting overused muscles and underused ones

  • Regulating the nervous system through breath and recovery techniques

  • Improving rest, repair and overall performance

Sessions are adapted to your training load, injury history and your goals.

Private Yoga Tuition

Private yoga is designed entirely around you. Whether you’re managing an injury, a busy schedule, or simply prefer learning in a quieter space, these sessions are tailored to your needs, goals and pace. Each sequence is created specifically for your body and your lifestyle.

I teach 1:1, 1:2 and small group private yoga, supporting beginners who want to build confidence, advanced practitioners looking to deepen their practice, people in pregnancy (14–42 weeks), and those living with chronic conditions or recovering from injury.

Sessions are rooted in anatomical understanding, delivered with care, and built to help you move safely and confidently. Medical consultation is included where appropriate.
