ELEVATE EVENTS
Elevate workshops & events in Cheadle Hulme
My events come with a mix of energy, warmth, and real human connection. They are a chance to:
✦ Pause the noise and step into a space that’s all about you
✦ Learn and experience in ways that stick (not just theory, but body + brain + breath)
✦ Meet other brilliant, curious humans who are also exploring, shifting, elevating
Some events are intimate, local and in-person. Others are online and global. All are designed to help you move, think, and feel differently, in a way that lasts.
I would love for you to join me….
YOGA WORKSHOPS
with Senior Teacher, Kate Oates
Take your practice deeper with extended yoga sessions designed to give you what our weekly classes can only tease at: more time, more understanding, more lightbulb moments.
These aren’t your typical workshops. This is space to pause the vinyasa, break poses down properly, understand what you’re actually doing, and rest like you mean it.
Longer. Slower. Smarter.
Feb: LEARN | Chatturangha
You do it approximately a thousand times in every yoga class. It’s that hovering, controlled, breath-driven moment between plank and the floor. Chaturanga Dandasana — the four-limbed staff pose — is one of the most repeated and, let’s be honest, most misunderstood poses in yoga. Most of us just… fall through it. Or quietly drop our knees and hope nobody noticed. No judgment. I’ve been there.
This workshop fixes that.
Chaturanga (Sanskrit: chatur = four, anga = limb, danda = staff) is a full-body isometric hold that demands serious shoulder alignment and a whole team of smaller muscles that don’t get half the credit they deserve.
The serratus anterior, the rotator cuff, the deep shoulder stabilisers working quietly in the background.
When it’s all clicking, it’s elegant and powerful. When it’s not, your shoulders tend to have opinions about it.
In this two-hour session, we slow everything right down.
We break the movement apart, understand what’s actually happening in the shoulder joint, find those supporting muscles, and we watch, and we feel the pose working properly. No rushing past it. No flowing through on autopilot.
Just honest, thorough, body-smart work.
And then, because we’ll have absolutely earned it, a big proper relaxation to close!
So many clients have done this workshop over the years, and it genuinely changes the way you move on the mat — not just in chaturanga itself, but in everything it leads to: arm balances, inversions, backbends. Understand this one pose and you’ve got the master key to a huge amount of your practice, past, present, and future.
Friday 27th February, 6–8pm.
At Luna Wholebeing, Cheadle Hulme.

March: UNWIND | Release & Recharge
Think about how many times you’ve been in class and thought “I could genuinely use ten more minutes in this pose.” This is that. Two whole hours of it.
Unwind is exactly what it promises. Slow, deep stretches that reach into the connective tissue. Supported poses where props do the holding so your body can actually let go instead of working to keep itself up. Hands-on adjustments (the kind that make you audibly exhale). And a long, guided relaxation to close that leaves the nervous system genuinely, properly settled.
This is not a soft option.
Restorative yoga is one of the most powerful things you can do for your body. It just looks deceptively calm from the outside. Inside, things are shifting — fascia releasing, the parasympathetic nervous system finally getting a proper turn, the kind of deep rest that actually restores you rather than just pausing you. Pure nervous system gold.
We use lots of props throughout — bolsters, blocks, blankets, straps — so everything is fully supported. You don’t need flexibility, strength, or significant experience. You need the ability to lie down and breathe. Most of us have got that covered.
March is the perfect moment for this. Winter isn’t quite over, spring energy hasn’t fully arrived, and the body is quietly asking for permission to exhale. Give it two hours. You won’t regret it.
Sunday 22nd March, 6–8pm.
In-person at Luna Wholebeing or online.
Open to all levels.
This is popular and already half-booked. Get in there, now!
April: UNWIND ONLINE | Release & Rest *at home*
This one is for our wonderful crew who are a bit further away. Because distance from the studio should absolutely not mean distance from a proper rest.
The April session is a 90-minute online relaxation workshop — pure parasympathetic nervous system goodness, delivered straight to your living room. No commute. No parking. No putting real trousers on.
We’ll move through gentle, fully supported poses that work with gravity rather than against it — the kind of poses you can completely surrender into when your own space, your own temperature, and your own quiet are doing half the work. The session closes with a long, guided relaxation that will make you genuinely grateful you don’t have to drive home afterwards.
And this is not a lesser version of the in-person experience. Practising in a familiar environment has real physiological benefits for the nervous system — your brain recognises safety signals it knows, and it relaxes faster. Consider it a feature, not a compromise.
Sunday 12th April (TBC), evening, 90 mins.
*Online only!*
Open to all levels.
Book in and you’ll sleep reeeeaaaaally well!
May: ROCKET | Freedom
In the 1980s, Larry Schultz was teaching in San Francisco and getting frustrated with how rigidly Ashtanga Yoga was being delivered. People were being told to wait. To hold back. To earn the next pose. Larry disagreed. He believed that with the right sequencing and the freedom to adapt, you could give students access to the good stuff sooner. He built The Rocket, and called it that precisely because it “gets you there faster.”
Rocket Yoga is rooted in Ashtanga Vinyasa, built from the Primary and Intermediate series with key poses from the advanced series woven in. But where Ashtanga holds its structure tightly, Rocket hands you the framework and says: now you lead. Four set sequences, designed around joints and muscle groups, collectively working the entire body. Playful. Freeing. Genuinely sweaty.
The four sequences:
Bottle Rocket — The foundation. The skeleton the whole system is built on. Bottle Rocket is a beautifully designed sequence that opens the full body in 45–60 minutes, with modifications for everything. Free to add, free to adapt. It’s the entry point and the springboard — and in a workshop setting, the place we call home base.
Rocket I — “Long and strong.” The lower body takes the focus: legs, hips, foundations. The sequence that makes you feel properly grounded and powerful.
Rocket II — Upper body and core take centre stage. Backbends, arm strength, twisting. More arm balances. Where things start getting really interesting.
Rocket III — The Happy Hour of the Rocket system. Traditionally practised on a Friday (Larry knew what he was doing), Rocket III brings together elements of both I and II for the most expansive sequence in the whole practice. More poses, more choice. You guide yourself through what feels right that day. It’s a celebration.
What makes a workshop different from a regular class is simply: time. More of it. More time to play, to experiment, to try the things you normally sweep past. More time to flow, to sweat, and to really, truly rest. Savasana after a Rocket session hits different, because you’ve genuinely worked for it.
This is all the great bits of yoga, turned right up.
Available to yogis who have attended 10+ vinyasa flow classes.
Not suitable for pregnancy.
Funky poses are completely optional — modifications throughout for all levels.
Sunday 17th May @ 6 – 8pm.
At Luna Wholebeing, Cheadle Hulme.
Come and be playful, it’s been too long!
June: SOFT POWER | A Summer Workshop
June’s workshop has two gears, and it uses both.
Soft Power opens with movement. Proper movement — a flowing, energising sequence that wakes the body up, builds heat, and reminds you what it feels like to be genuinely strong and free in your own skin. We’ll breathe, flow, and move with the ease that comes from a full year of practice behind us. There’s real effort in this first half, and it feels good.
And then we shift gear!
The second half is where the “soft” in Soft Power earns its place. Long-held poses. Supported stillness. A deep, extended relaxation that takes everything the first half built and lets it settle right into your bones. The contrast between the two halves is completely deliberate – and it’s exactly what makes the rest feel so thoroughly satisfying.
June is the longest days, the fullest energy, and often the point in the year when people realise they have been pushing hard since January and haven’t quite stopped. This workshop is a celebration of everything you’ve done and a genuine invitation to exhale.
Leave feeling lighter, stronger, and more you.
